Working with the cleaners
We support the work and demands of various cleaners’ campaigns, with whom we have set up a support network that meets periodically to allow campaigners and representatives from community organisations to meet each other, explain their demands, share their stories and experiences, develop links, and identify opportunities for collaborative work. This space also facilitates the exchange of information and the development of each groups’ networks.
We are part of this support network because cleaners’ campaigns voice issues that affect many Latin Americans employed in cleaning, catering and hospitality.

Cleaners’ campaigns
The 3 Cosas Campaign is advocating for improved terms and conditions for the outsourced workers at the University of London’s Central Administration. The campaign is calling for the University of London to implement the same sick pay, holidays, and pensions entitlements for outsourced workers as those the University offers to its direct employees.

Justice for Cleaners SOAS campaign is about to STOP bullying and inequality in the workplace and bring the cleaners IN-HOUSE. The Justice for Cleaners campaign at SOAS supports the outsourced ISS workers in their struggle for equal working conditions as other SOAS staff.Â

July 4th: Justice for Cleaners Independence Day
Latin American Labour Day March
On May 1st, 2013, the International Workers’ Day, we marched together with Justice for Cleaners Campaign, SOAS UNISON, 3 Cosas Campaign, University of London Branch of the IWGB, and Movimiento Ecuador en el Reino Unido (MERU), to raise awareness on the issue of workers’ rights for the Latin American community in the UK. Find more pictures of the day here.
