Over the last 10 years, CLAUK has campaigned for the official recognition of Latin Americans as an ethnic minority in the UK, and for Spanish and Portuguese to be recognised as community languages.

We want all Latin Americans to thrive and lead fulfilling lives with dignity. To that aim, we want to raise awareness that a high proportion of people from Latin American communities have been living in financial precarity in the UK.

We have also campaigned on key areas including democratic rights and civic participation. As recipients of the Greater London Authority Voter ID Grants for Phase 1 (January-March 2023) and Phase 2 (August 2023 - February 2024), CLAUK is proud to continue delivering awareness raising and supporting Latin Americans to keep informed on key legislative changes that affect their lives.
