Our Membership is currently closed for 2025. We will reopen again next year.
In March 2025, we held our Asamblea comunitaria latinoamericana with over 50 attendees online and in person. It was an extremely productive session, introducing our work and connecting CLAUK organisations with the ecosystem of groups across London, Birmingham, Swansea, Glasgow, Edinburgh and other parts of the UK.
Beyond conducting a nationwide discussion of Latin American communities’ needs, strengths, and solutions, we also launched our membership for the first time since the start of the Coalition in 2012.
As a Coalition with the ambition to become national in scope, we want to reflect the full heterogeneity of our communities in its geography and in the breadth of multicultural Latin American and Andean experiences that come from the region.
We are stronger when working together. The priority areas that we organise around include campaigns on official recognition of the Latin American identity, a decent living standard – labour rights, statutory sick pay – as well as democratic rights and civic engagement.
In each area, we build working groups so members can choose on which particular areas they would like to work.
We are interested in hearing from you, your group, or initiative!
How to become a member
To ensure we provide high-quality onboarding, support, and guidance, we are hoping for a maximum of three new members to join the Coalition’s three types of membership, with the aim to increase this up to five annually.
All membership tiers are free. The Steering Group will collectively deliberate on applications, send invites to prospective members for scoping meetings, and conduct due-diligence, aiming to make a decision by the end of the summer.
Members must:
- Be majority-led by Latin Americans
- Be non-partisan and non-religious
- Have a mission that benefits the communities.
- Have a track record supporting our communities.
We welcome allies from Latin American and non-Latin American backgrounds in our Supporters tier, with the need to demonstrate a track record and experience in engaging with Latin American communities.
If you are interested in learning more, you can review our Introduction Pack and if you are interested in joining the Coalition, you can fill in our Expression of Interest form. We will be reviewing these annually.
