On Sunday, April 26th, at the premises of the University of East London, we launched the campaign for official recognition of Latin Americans in Newham as an ethnic group. The Movement Ecuador in the UK (MERU) and the Coalition of Latin Americans in the UK (CLAUK) organized this event with the support of LIDELAN and UNISON.
Over 150 people attended the event and were informed about the objective and plans for the Latin American Recognition in the Borough of Newham. Official representative of the Mayor of Newham Councillor Joy Laguda express her support for Latin Americans in Newham. In addition, there were presentations from members of different community organisations:

Andrea Hernández responsible for the Latin American Recognition Campaign in Newham led the presentation.
